  1. Dash V0.9 - Unregistered Version

  4. Dash V0.9 is an unregistered shareware version of WrightUtilities'
  5. Dash. A small Windows 3.1 utility that has a "speedometer" to 
  6. display the percentage of memory available, a "fuel gauge" to 
  7. display the amount of space being used on drive "C:", and a small
  8. window to show the Free System Resources, "FSR".

  10. Included Files
  11. --------------

  13. DASHV09.EXE       - the main program, Dash V0.9, 
  14.                     the unregistered version.
  15.  
  16. DASHV09.HLP       - the Windows help file for this
  17.                     program.
  18.  
  19. DASHDLL.DLL       - Dynamic Linked Library needed to run
  20.                     the main program.
  21.  
  22. BWCC.DLL          - Borland Custom Control DLL.
  23.  
  24. README.TXT        - this file.
  25.  
  26. ORD_FRM.WRI       - an order form, in Windows Write form, for the 
  27.                     newest registered version of Dash.
  28.  
  29. ORD_FRM.TXT       - same as above, but in Windows Notepad form.
  30.  
  31. REG_VER.BMP      - a bitmap drawing showing what the registered 
  32.                     looks like.

  34. System Requirements
  35. -------------------

  37. - Must be using Windows 3.1 or greater.
  38. - Must have at least 2 MB of free memory so that you are
  39.   running in enhanced mode.
  40.  
  41. How To Install Program
  42. ----------------------

  44. 1.  Create a directory or go into one that already exists, that
  45.     you wish to place the program into.
  46. 2.  Copy all of the files that were included into this directory.
  47. 3.  If not running windows, start it up.
  48. 4.  Decide either to create a new program group or use an existing
  49.     one that this program will be put into.
  50.     *Note : If you wish for the program to start everytime that
  51.             you use Windows, choose the "StartUp" group.
  52. 5.  Once into the program group that you have choosen, use the
  53.     Program Manager's File / New and choose "Program Item".
  54. 6.  Fill out as followed:
  55.     Description :   Dash V0.9
  56.         Command Line :  <the drive/path> \DASHV09.EXE
  57. 7.  Press OK.
  58. 8.  You are now ready to use Dash V0.9 just like you would
  59.     use any other Windows 3.1 program.

  61. Shareware
  62. ---------

  64. Dash V0.9 is a shareware vesion of WrightUtilities Dash.  
  65. Shareware is a way for you the consumer to "try before you buy".
  66. This means that you are allowed to try this software out for a 
  67. reasonable amount of time, 30 days, before you must make a decision.
  68. If after this time you are still using this software, you are 
  69. required by law to register with the company or author that owns 
  70. it (see address at end).

  72. In the case of this software, there are great advantages in 
  73. registering.  With your registration you will receive the newest 
  74. registered version of Dash (see below).  You will also recieve a 
  75. printed manual and an updated help file.  Finally, you will be 
  76. promoting the best way that there is to buy the greatest software 
  77. out there.  Only you, the consumer can keep shareware working the 
  78. way it should.  If people don't register their shareware, there is
  79. no insentive for authors to continue to offer their software this 
  80. way.

  82. If you got this copy of Dash V0.9 in a store or shop, what you did 
  83. was pay the handling charge that the store put on this software.  You 
  84. did not purchase this software.  You still must register if you plan
  85. to continue to use it after the trial period.

  99. of Dash that can only be obtained from the author, David M M Wright.

  101. The registered version has some great changes and additions.

  103. - the actual numbers showing the amount of memory and
  104.   free disk space will be shown.
  105. - ability to monitor other drives other than C:
  106. - a menu to change the refresh or update rate of the program.
  107.   (between 1/4 second and 5 seconds)
  108. - the main window will take up less of your Windows desktop.
  109. - a clock will display the time and date in the main Dash window.
  110. - plus possibly other great features that are being added right now.
